Highly Kind

I Foresee Highly Kind entering that envied position between want-to-be and has been. This Southern Rock/Jam band has what it takes. Highly Kind?s release, Don?t Wake Albert (Rockin? Camel Music), was recorded at Duck Tape Studios in Decatur, Alabama by super producer Johnny Sandlin. Highly Kind is Gadsden?s Albert Simpson (lead vocals/guitar), Montgomery?s Try Evans (keyboards), Dothan?s Kevin Scott (bass) and Jacksonville, Florida?s Duane Trucks (drums). Birmingham?s David Crewshaw plays drums when Duane gigs with his brother , Dereck. Johnny must have been drinking an extra helping of his genius juice when he added 17 year old Josh Gooch, whose phenomenal guitar and slide work is on 6 of the album?s 12 tracks. Plus more special guest; Randall Bramblett (keyboards/background vocals), James Pennebaker (steelguitar & mandolin), Joe Keracher (clarinet), Darryl Tibbs (congas & tambourine) and Amanda Quarles (backing vocals). Albert?s Simpson?s voice is one that makes you think you have already heard him on the radio. Highly Kind will be gigging all over Alabama during February, and March including T-Town?s Gallettes on March 27. Tattoo that date on you torso because this is a ?don?t miss band.? As I said before , this is one of those bands that has everything that it takes. Remember you heard about them here. By: Jerry W. Henry Planet Weekly
