On January 21st, 2008, Blues lovers from all over Canada, will come together for the 11th annual Maple Blues Awards in Toronto. The Maple Blues Awards is the national Canadian Blues award program. The objective of the award show is to promote and recognize outstanding achievements in the genera of Blues music.

Maple Blues recently announced that legendary Toronto soul man, Danny Brooks, has earned four nominations for his Rockin' Camel Music release "No Easy Way Out."

The Nominations are as follows:

* Male Vocalist of the Year
* Recording of the Year (Johnny Sandlin)
* Songwriter of the Year
* Toronto Blues Society Lifetime Achievement Award

In first glancing over the cd insert, it is evident of the superstar power that went into the creation of this album. The credits read like a "Who's Who" of the music Industry. "No Easy Way Out" was produced by the illustrious Johnny Sandlin (VP & head of A&R-Capricorn Records, Producer of the Allman Brothers, Cher, Widespread Panic, Wet Willie and Delbert McClinton.) Musical and vocal contributions include David Hood, Bonnie Bramlett, Scott Boyer, Spooner Oldham, Bill Stewart, Kelvin Holly, Carla Russell and Tina Swindell.

Demonstrating exceptional vocals and anomalous style, "No Easy Way Out" is a musical journey of the dues Danny has paid, and testament to the many miles he has traveled. The album pays tribute to Hank Williams, Solomon Burke, Otis Redding, Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker and the Blind Boys of Alabama, all of whom influenced Danny Brooks and the direction of this album. The result is an audible vision of how far Mr. Brooks has come.... and a peek into where he is headed.

"No Easy Way Out" has garnered an abundant amount of press, including favorable reviews by Grits Magazine, Exclaim Magazine and Living Blues Magazine. As of November 5th, 2007, "No Easy Way Out" was #5 on Real Blues Magazine's "Top 100 CDs." The single "Ain't That The Truth" is currently at #7 as a "HOT TRACK" on the Cashbox music chart.
